If a home visit is required please contact the surgery before 10.30. Home visits are undertaken at the discretion of the doctor for patients who are genuinely housebound or if the visit is medically indicated.
It would not be usual for a doctor to visit under the following circumstances:
Any emergency situation eg Heart attack – call 999
Children who have who have common childhood symptoms of fever, cough, cold, earache, headache, diarrhea/vomiting and most cases of abdominal pain and are usually well enough to attend the surgery. It is not harmful to take a child with a fever outside.
Also adults with common problems, such as cough, sore throat, influenza, general malaise back or abdominal pain should be brought to the surgery. Transport arrangements are the responsibility of the patients or their carers.
